As teased in an earlier post we (specifically @algent) have recently updated our version of Gnome MPV
from 0.16 to 0.24. This update had been held back for quite some time (over three years) because it also comes with a name change from Gnome MPV
to Celluloid
.
It was originally planned to work on a mechanism to automatically switch the pinned media player icon in the GNOME and Budgie editions from Gnome MPV
to Celluloid
, but this took longer than expected, and we still don't have the capability to do so.
This means, unfortunately, that you will have to do this manually (once) after this week's wave of updates, but this was now considered the lesser evil compared to dragging along the severely outdated version of the software. So it is a matter of unpinning the old Gnome MPV icon from your panel/dock, and then launching Celluloid and pinning this icon there as a replacement. Of course this only applies if you haven't already unpinned this icon anyway.
