When I finished mowing the lawn today, I found that there are lots of ripe blackberries on our property already. Usually I start picking them for jam around the first of September, but this is apparently a very good year for them. I picked a quart, and asked my wife how she would like grits for breakfast tomorrow, with wild blackberries in them. She gave me an enthusiastic, "Yeah"!
I think it's going to be quite a while before anyone here gets tired of eating grits. There's probably about 200 ways we haven't tried them yet.
