So I tried these on my Gigabyte desktop G1.Assassin 2 (rev. 1.0)
garuda-gnome-linux-zen-220717 runs from USB drive fine for the most part, also been able to run ubuntu and EndeavourOS_Artemis-22_6 which I don't like because that EndeavourOS disables the blutooth hardwares software drivers because of secuirty risks, otherwise I like that one over garuda distro. and only Chrome OS Flex on my USB for those Toshiba C655 and Dell INSPIRON N4010 laptops can run them since they have intel HD 3D cards, both my current desktop and my current ASUS GL702V laptop is nvidia based, so they can't run ChromeOS Flex at all, I tried from my USB drive it only loads the startup LOGO, on the laptop it crashes and reboots, and on the Desktop it seems to just read the USB Drive a lot, and stay on the LOGO, since they didn't put anything into their version yet for using on NVIDIA hardware, its simple doesn't work but for my older slower intel 3D laptops.
ok so I was able to boot Solus-4.3-Budgie no problems it seems set as MBR under Partition scheme and target system as BIOS or UEFI in rufus-3.20, I set my 4GB drive with that one, the other drive size is more like 50GB in size I don't know if its just the usb drive but Solus-4.3-Plasma set as GPT and UEFI, that Plasma one on startup gets a bunch of EEC messages, I have to snap a photo with my tablet to show what its showing, next time I try to boot it, as I don't recall what was display on the monitor. I have not tried GNome version of 4.3 yet on my desktop, so I don't know if it will boot or not.
G1.Assassin 2 (rev. 1.0) is the name of my Gigabytes motherboard, its a bit old, and last bios update for it was in 2013, and last supported windows drivers are Windows 8.1 on that page for it. so it never got windows 10 drivers or windows 11 drivers from Gigabyte website for it. it seems on my desktop that Budgie can boot from the USB 2.0 port, but some linux work in the USB 3.0 port when pluged into a USB like for example some run in UEFI mode on it with 3.0 and others like this one seem to boot better not as GPT it seems to effect how they startup on this desktop. like the arch linux has no problems booting from a GPT setup in rufus installer for USB disks but some require that MBR like my old laptops don't use what my desktop has for example.
to run linux, I turn off the secure boot, turn off fast startup in the bios when booting linux, keep on the emulator settings in the bios, sometimes charge the Windows 8 boot settings in bios to other systems I don't know if thats needed for linux or not. I normally keep secure boot on for windows 11, but I don't think most linux's can run under secure boot so that settings I disable when running linux, otherwise it really don't boot correctly.
