I'd ask how comfortable were you with troubleshooting Windows? If fairly comfortable with doing your own installs, management, etc.; then Solus is about as beginner friendly as it gets (especially Budgie).
If not...
If everything goes well, Solus shouldn't cause too many hassles (some oddball problems here and there, but that is to be expected), otherwise Solus (and linux in general) isn't at the ease of use as Windows (management, software availability, driver support, etc.).
It's a question of intended use, how well Solus can meet them, or at least what trade-offs you are willing to make.
Certainly give it a try (but I'd keep a backup copy of Windows before you commit fully).
And even if it doesn't work, I'd visit again later as see what the next release brings to the table.
