why Name Solus?

I had a question, why the name Solus? where did the idea of that name come from?

Ikey Doherty said in an interview that the logo depicts a Galway Hooker Irish fishing boat.

Doherty also commented in the interview that he wanted the logo to convey "new horizons, open sails".

Solus also means "bright, clear, light,..." in Old Irish
