Need help with cros_ec_sensors driver

Hello community, long time Solus user/forum lurker, first time poster.

I installed Solus on a Chromebook 2-in-1 and currently the only thing not working is the cros_ec_sensors that flips the screen when on tablet mode. I can see the driver is part of the Linux kernel, it’s just not included in the one shipped with Solus. Anyone have a link to a guide on how to compile it or is this something that I need to submit a request to the dev team?

Sorry if this is a total newb question, never actually done something like this before and all my efforts using make have failed so far.

This is the path to the driver after downloading the Linux headers
/lib/modules/5.15.50-216.current/source/drivers/iio/common/cros_ec_sensors

awd4416 jiminy crickets good luck with that. my eyeballs are numb after 20 minutes of reading...there seems to be multiple applications for cros_ec_sensors...it just doesn't seem to do a single thing but multiple things?...and there are different kinds of cros_ec_sensors....seemingly specific to task/product....
...I just did not get the research impression you just find any old cros_ec_sensor drivers and install it and you are cured...but I'm sure you have several hours of research vs. my 20 minutes.
Do a Github search? I'd be shocked if there weren't a targz somewhere.
(PS there's a concurrent thread about Solus and Chromebook and it seems like a headache)

brent yeah been looking all over, i'm good at doing IT stuff but enabling kernel drivers is something new to me. took a break from searching out of frustrations 😅

you have confidence enabling the kernel driver for cros_ec_sensors will cure your screen-switching then excellent. could not tell from reading the top 10 search engine results exactly what it did🙂 and what it didn't
