Hello everyone,
Once again I have trouble with my Samsung XPRESS M2875FD. Specifically the scanner-part of it. The device is connected via LAN.
It only works after I reinstall The Unified Linux Driver everytime before scanning after a reboot! Otherwise it simply won't find the device. To keep my sanity I'd like to find the issue with your help.
When I run the install script after accepting the terms I get the following output:
**** Are you going to use network devices ? If yes, it is recommended to configure your firewall.
**** If you want to configure firewall automatically, enter 'y' or just press 'Enter'. To skip, enter 'n'. : y
**** Registering CUPS backend ...
**** CUPS restart FAILED.
**** Print driver has been installed successfully.
**** Registering SANE backend ...
**** Restarting udev ...
**** Scan driver has been installed successfully.
**** Install finished.
As you can see registering the CUPS backend fails - might this already be the problem why my scanner won't work after a reboot?
Another idea: I would accept a workaround like restarting udev manually, if that might be a problem.
I am not the most experienced troubleshooting with logfiles, so please guide me a little 🙂
Happy to hear some of your ideas.
