after update gnome

Hi all,
I would appreciate your thoughts and comments related to these anomalies in Gnome version of Solus.
Today I have downloaded the official Solus-4.3-GNOME.iso and installed it properly, but after update the system, I cannot open Settings, and Extensions.
One more funny thing, that nautilus do not apply the gtk-theme.

Do you know any tip or trick to solve it?

When it comes to the settings/extensions, there was an issue, but I was hoping it had been fixed by the libgtk-4 update. What output do you get when you try to run gnome-control-center from the terminal?

Hi,

same problem here. Looks like this error also affects other gnome software like gnome-calendar and the extensions app. These are the errors I get:

gnome-control-center
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

gnome-calendar
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message recipient disconnected from message bus without replying

gnome-extensions-app
/usr/bin/gnome-extensions-app: line 2: 3784 Segmentation fault (core dumped) /usr/bin/gjs /usr/share/gnome-shell/org.gnome.Extensions "$@"

My temporary workaround is to downgrade and not do updates until the issue is fixed:

sudo eopkg hs -t <history nr.>

Maybe I could add some details later.

Btw: Would be glad if someone could edit the title of the thread. "After update gnome" is kind a inexpressive.

Ok, here's the update. I tracked it down to 6 packages. If I downgrade like shown below gnome-control-center and the other apps work again

* libxcb-devel is downgraded from 1.15-31-1-x86_64 to 1.15-29-1-x86_64.
* libx11 is downgraded from 1.8.1-37-1-x86_64 to 1.8-35-1-x86_64.
* libx11-devel is downgraded from 1.8.1-37-1-x86_64 to 1.8-35-1-x86_64.
* mesalib is downgraded from 22.0.4-174-1-x86_64 to 21.3.8-172-1-x86_64.
* vivaldi-stable is downgraded from 5.3.2679.58-175-1-x86_64 to 5.2.2623.48-170-1-x86_64.

Hey guys,
should have googled that earlier. Looks like this is a known bug and good news is its fixed in version 22.0.5 of the mesalib. Will we get an update soon @joebonrichie?

d0nj0w Just to get the information into this thread as well: Joey updated mesalib this morning already. After the next sync it will be available to everyone and hopefully fix this issue.

Hello,
This is machine is running Solus-4.3-GNOME (clean install).
Waited for the update of mesalib.

Updated with mesalib 22.0.5, settings still don't work.
When I did eopkg check only thing broken is noto-sans-ttf Missing file: /usr/share/fonts/conf.d/66-noto-color-emoji.conf.
When I did gnome-control-center I get Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Did sudo eopkg it --reinstall gnome-control-center did not solve it.

I do a rollback for now.

I just did a fresh install of Gnome after using budgie for a while. I have the problem with extensions not working properly and not being able to launch the gnome-extensions-app or do much with the gnome shell integration extension.

Okay, so it seems like the mesalib update unfortunately didn't fix this issue. Also it apparently only affects people using Intel GPUs. Currently looking into it again.
