20 minutes at duck duck reading/skimming the first 25 results:
1) majority (not by much) say this is an exclusively VMWare/swap problem....

First thing I thought of was hardware, too (#2). Crappy thing about hardware is we replace is when it dies, not when it's working...I wonder if there is a way in bios or hardware monitor software or good old fashioned hand held ohmeter to actually see you are getting the power Solus requires. Assuming we know how many volts that is.
Anything else I say will be beyond the spitballing stage. Thats my impression of the reading anyway.
You should also check that message in solus forum search and dev tracker search fields to see if it is a known thing.
