and afterwards I could not boot anymore. After searching a bit, rolling back and forth and stuff, I saw a message that the initramfs is missing some partition uuid which should exist. therefore I figured it is not discovered properly and I added the following to my kernel cmd line in /boot/loader/entries/Solus-current-5.15.43-215.conf rd.lvm.conf=0 rd.lvm.vg=SolusSystem. With that I booted successfully and upgraded my system again. This obviously removed those 2 parameters from the boot config and I am pretty positive that the next boot will fail again if I do not intervene.
Does anyone have some idea what changed or what else I can do to persist my config. I am guessing something is wrong with my /etc/lvm/lvm.conf or /etc/lvm/lvmlocal.conf. but I dont know anything about those and I do think I never touched them myself???
EDIT:
the whole thing about LVM seams to be a red herring. indeed there is something going on with my uuids and apparently there is some config file which sets a hard coded resume id

likely that was the actual culprit for me. going to restart and test...
