My password is accepted at the Solus MATE login screen, the computer thinks for a few seconds, acts like it is about to load the MATE desktop, but then goes right back to my login screen.
I have checked packages according to the Help troubleshooting page, and fixed a couple (reinstalled successfully), yet still the only thing that takes me out of the login loop problem is reverting to a prior update (the one I installed around 5/23/2022 or so, vs. 6/1/2022).
I am very unversed in Linux but wanted to report the problem for others' benefit. I figure I'll just wait to update until the next update after this is released; see if it fixes my problem.
Kinda sucks though because Firefox has reverted with the rollback & won't let me open it with all my saved bookmarks & Addons, saying this is an old version, sorry about your bookmarks & settings, we can't let you load them - because something-something-corruption/borked-ness/you could lose them forever - so here, have this raw browser instead. ☹️ So though my computer is functional, it's not very useful to me with Firefox this way.
If anyone offers suggestions on something you'd suggest to check or do, here--for my benefit, you're going to have to 'splain it like I'm a 5 year old. Don't assume I know what you're talking about. 😉 Spell it all out.
Thanks.
