Dark theme not works on "Files"

I tried to duplicate @tomocafe 's problem since my gnome-control-center stayed white last time. But nevermind the corroboration: it doesn't even launch---

$ gnome-control-center

I think this might be because we no longer apply this patch

Until this is fixed and/or Budgie gets its own dark/light preference toggle, I recommend @jrsilvey's solution with dconf-editor

Just another data point ... it launches fine here, and is quite black also. (Materia-Dark)

Note the libEGL warning, though. Perhaps a clue? I started that without elevated credentials. When I started it as root, the results were very different.

There were a LOT of instances of the error message you see here, and the control center is no longer black.

I generally use Matcha Sea Dark as a theme but recently used Oomox Theme Generator to make a spin of that theme so what is on my computer is custom right now. I didn't notice anything off. If it's using Adwaita somewhere I haven't noticed.

jrsilvey I don't use gnome control center, I use Budgie. I was just trying help OP by seeing if I could duplicate his problem.
