dont know if its a good or bad thing. i assume it will come to solus some time, or is there a plan to stay on 41 for the time being? seem to remember that being suggested somewhere, but ive been wrong once before

The new GNOME maintainer (@ZachBacon) will be updating to it when he gets to it. In my estimation though it's pretty unlikely to land this sync cycle even if it's ready with the overall focus on the toolchain rebuilds this cycle. It may also not be the worst idea to wait until 42.1 just to ensure that extensions have time to update and to allow all for most of the critical issues with it to be identified and fixed.

Yes. After the extension carnage of 41 I wouldn't mind waiting. e.g none of the "Dash to ...." extensions are ready.

AFAIK, Solus Gnome will come with vanilla Gnome, I'm guessing, I read it somewhere in the forum, from the budgie side, well its a budgie thing, I'm guessing the adoption of Gnome 42 (GTK stuff ) would be minimal, libadwaita is more spread across gnome applications though.

Zach will start really looking into it this weekend, he said. Now, how long it takes until everything is ready for consumption is another question entirely ^^
(and of course the GNOME people have implemented some spicy changes again, that might make it harder, e.g. in connection to Budgie)

I honestly don't get much attention, I'm very happy with the current version of GNOME. So I don't mind waiting, worse was when I was on GNOME 3.21. At that time I used MATE .
