As the next step in my "A Day on Budgie" project (where I spend an entire day using my Budgie VM instead of its Plasma laptop host), I've installed and configured the three solitaire games I like. They're in the same three virtual workspaces as they are on my Plasma laptop, and the VM is toggled to full-screen.
The result is remarkable. There are only two ways for me to tell -- at a glance -- which machine I'm using. The menu icon is different, and there are two fewer virtual workspaces in the bottom bar. By the end of the day, I should be able to tell whether the two fewer workspaces are really a showstopper for me on this laptop.
On my development workstation, I've been thinking about replacing its 120GB SSD with a 500GB one that I have on hand, because I'll now be working more on that machine than I have so far in my retirement. When I do that, I'll need to reinstall Solus on it again anyway. Its DE could just as easily be Budgie, because 8 workspaces on that machine would still be plenty.
I normally use 120GB SSDs in all my computers, because they're all connected to my NAS, which has many TB of free space. The NAS stores all my documents, photos, videos, music, downloads, and backups. It's only on the development workstation that I might benefit from more capacity in its SSD.
This is going to be an interesting day, indeed!
