I need some help

Hi guys. What's up? So I'm in a spot where I've been using Solus for two years as my daily driver and been using it for four years. I really love Solus, got everything I need, it's been and easy and smooth ride but since the Steam Deck release and some games with anticheat being supported, for example: Apex, I found out that it runs pretty much like shit 'till I decided to try Fedora, and to my surprise Apex runs smooth AF, so does GTFO, another game that runs like shit on Solus.

So I need some help to found out what the heck is going on and aside from that, I decided to let go of Windows so now my two SSDs (one NVME) both have Linux distros, well one has, the NVME had Solus and I wanted to do a fresh install but it won't take the 512MB FAT32 partition marked as esp/boot as the bootloader when trying to install, that's the other thing I need help with, it's taking the other SSD where I have Fedora to install bootloader, how can I make it to install the bootloader to the NVME drive?

If I understand this, your goal is to create a dual-boot system in which each drive has its own bootloader (Drive #1 Solus bootloader and Drive #2 Fedora bootloader).

You can set up a dual-drive, dual-boot system with each drive having its own bootloader, but it takes some work. When you set up the computer in that way, the computer uses the UEFI/BIOS Boot Menu (rather than the Linux Boot Manager or Grub) to determine which bootloader to use during start up. The end result will look like this:

I finally decided to unplug the SSD, install Solus on the NVME and then plug the SSD back, now got two boot entries on BIOS, one for Solus OS, one for Fedora.

Is Solus being shitty with Apex and GTFO? YES! The only difference between the two are kernel and the drivers, so I installed Fedora on the NVME and Solus on the SSD, nothing has changed, Apex and GTFO are so so so smooth on Fedora. The only issue with Fedora is that it takes SO much to boot. Solus boots in like 7 seconds, Fedora takes almost a whole damn minute.

The two games you mention are both Windows games, so if Fedora is using 5.16 (I assume so), this could be an advantage of the new FUTEX2 syscall. Not sure how much of a difference that alone makes. Since you mentioned different driver versions, but nothing about your hardware or installed drivers, it's hard to analyze your situation.
Apart from that it can be worth a try to switch around the settings in "Linux Steam Integration" (making sure to restart Steam for it to take effect).

Hi! I wanted to write "the only difference are kernel and drives" hahaha. One is on a NVME and the other on SSD.

Hardware is:

ASUS X570 Prime Pro
Nvidia GTX 3070
32GB of DDR4 RAM

I think that's it. Both are on 510 Nvidia drivers. Will try again when Solus updates kernel.
