This may be considered to be over the line, but lets first consider the question, "What is political/politics?" Politics is how we organize society and agree as to how we will interact with each other. Therefore, literally everything that involves more than one person is, by definition, political ... everything. That said, if you decide to remove this post I understand, but IMHO that action would be deleterious to everyone who thinks (or at least attempts to think) for themselves.
The problem with DDG's action is that here lately, everything that the Democrat party disagrees with is said to be Russian disinformation. Russia didn't hack the DNC: Russian disinformation. Hunter Biden's laptop: Russian disinformation. Bio labs in Ukraine: Russian disinformation. Attacks on Left of center ideologues: Russian disinformation. And, of course anyone who asks questions about this supposed Russian disinformation is said to be a Russian stooge who needs to be cancelled, scorned and ejected from polite society. In light of this strategy, do you really think that down ranking hits which are purported to be "Russian disinformation" is a good idea? I would suggest that it is not, even though I have nothing but contempt for the present leadership in a certain country which has dominating the news cycle for the past two weeks.
Notice that I haven't advocated for the political Right. I'm saying that any ideological filter is bad and I've provided but one of many possible examples of why I believe this, m'kay? So, in actual fact, this post is a rejection of politics in our technology and in the world of ideas.
Not everyone is a fan of Abraham Lincoln. I've heard the arguments ... and I get that. But, there is no denying that he said some very wise things. For instance, "I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts." I happen to agree with this. In this modern day it is up to each of us to evaluate the facts and judge for ourselves. It's not up to Rupert Murdoch, Jack Dorsey, Jeff Zucker, Bill Gates, Vladimir Putin, nor Jen Psaki to determine for us what the facts are, nor what we should think and feel about those facts. That is our job as a citizen. All we need is the unfiltered and unvarnished access to those facts.
