Hey people,
I recently started this question in the Solus Reddit but I was hinted to this forum and it might be better suited here.
As the title suggests I stumbled upon the hinge that Solus still provides texlive 2018 with its packaging system, though the April 2021 edition is already released and 2022 in the making. So I am just curious if this oddity has a larger picture or if it is due to e.g. (missing?) package maintainers?
It grew to my concern, as I compiled a document on my desktop Windows machine with official texlive installed and when I tried to do the same on my Solus laptop with texlive package it could not compile using the given font. A small problem, but I became obsessed with fixing it rather than switching the font. 😉
Now, after uninstalling the texlive package and installing texlive via the official linux installer of tug.org everything works fine. And I installed all texlive-fonts-* packages before when I tried to get it running using the official texlive package.
