KDE Plasma 5.24.2 Application Menu bugs

Today I updated my desktop computer to KDE Plasma 5.24.2, and detected a bug on the Application Menu:

My favorite icons are not in order, and the Shut Down, Restart and Log Out buttons are missing. Besides, Recent Applications and Recent Files are visible, when I have Recent Files switched off.

When I checked Configure Application Menu, I noticed that both Recent Applications and Recent Files were unticked, even if they appeared on the menu

OK, I thought, these things usually happen when updating to a newer version of Plasma, no biggie, I reordered and added missing icons, and ticked and unticked the necessary options. But then I restarted my computer, and saw that my changes are non persistent, that is, Shut Down, Log Out buttons are missing again, my favorite icons are not in the order I left them, and Recent Files is still on.

Does this happen to someone else?

I guess this should be reported to the KDE people, but I'm not very knowledgeable about the process. I'm going to check if this bug is posted on their site, if someone saw this bug, or is going to post it there, it would be appreciated. Otherwise, I will try to do it myself.

I do not have issues with plasma menu after last update, I can switch all layout, configure, enable or disable options in setting etc, everything works fine here.

As a further clarification, below I show the way I want to have my Application Menu

I can too, but any changes I make, are non persistent. So, could you please confirm that this doesn't happens to you?

I see, I just tried to switch to Applications Menu, configure a bit then log out. After log in back, yes settings was gone.

Pushed it to unstable so you get it on next sync but gonna post the Package unstable link after everything is build, you should be able to install it directly from unstable 🙂

We cherrypicked this to the stable repo, so just update your system to get the fix

Thank you both sangheeta for your feedback, and Girtablulu for soving it!!

Before lunch I switched to the unstable repo to solve this, but I saw there was a new kernel (yes, it's coming!), and I was afraid to update, so switched back to stable. Now after lunch I saw the fix on stable, so I'm going to update.

Thank you very much! This bug was not crippling, I could use my computers fine, but annoyed me 😄

joluveba no problem, pitty I haven't caught this before landing in stable, happens when I'm using a widget for shutting down etc in my pannel like with budgie
