I love solus.... however :/

so ive been here for a pretty long time, and solus has only ever given me one problem, and that one problem, is the implementation of plasma

to make a long story short, im a musician, i record live instruments, i have a lovely usb audio interface and am somewhat of a linux audio veteran

so whats this got to do with solus plasma?

on literally every other distro, running plasma or not, the software 'cadence' has always recognized my audio interface, and sets it up in a breeze, the ONLY system where this is not the case, is solus plasma.

it works properly on other releases of solus, budgie, working perfectly, mate, perfect
this is a bug i reported well over a year ago, (probably a LOT longer ago tbh)

ive reached out to the plasma maintainer for solus, no fix
ive reached out to other solus users, no fix

ive tried everything ive been told to try, and the bottom line is
the solus plasma configuration, is missing something pretty vital for any musician doing live recording.

please do not take this as a slight against anyone here, but how is this still a problem? EVERY distro has figured this out, plasma or not :/

Just from the vague info to me maybe looks like an interface problem. (Dunno got have more info!!!)
(I added the last line in previous post...) Geez mind and fingers this morning..lol

I hear you. Is there a good reason why you do not use Solus Budgie, Gnome or Mate instead, since they work well with your audio?

I do not recall ever having a issue reg this, but looking at the build we build and ship the plasma-pa with everything, nothing is missing on build and runtime.

we do have an additional sound mixer of plasma inside the repo kmix you may try it with this, if anything shows up but overall they both should work the same.

What else could be that the GTK based DE ship with an additional software which plasma is not using, but I have no idea what this could be. Have you ever run another plasma distro and it worked there?
Without having the same equipment gonna be hard troubleshooting but have you ever looked around if you find any logs systemd to see if it complains about something missing which can give me a hint what I have to look for?

so in literally every other desktop environment on solus, i install cadence, i configure my audio interface, job done. all jack applications and audio works as intended.

i install solus plasma, and cadence is completely unable to recognize my audio interface.
this is not an issue on any other distribution running plasma.

so there is something going on with the implementation of plasma on solus that has borked this kinda vital feature.

please dont take this as a complaint as solus is my fav distro, and id love to use plasma, but this issue has been around for ages.
