2 cents: Endeavour is solid. The Arch way is the arch way. It's sound. I think it's high maintenance but I don't mind it.. You may have a handful of updates in a day. It's not uncommon to get 2 kernel upgrades in one day I kid you not. Then reboots. You have to update your own reflectors, mirrors, and do a monthly cleaning. I like the terminal so all that stuff is second nature now.
In comparison Solus has about 2-3 eopkg commands I use to clean and I empty journalctl every month. Easily doubled in Endeavour but I like it.
It's solid as a #2.
I think you would love Alpine and it's MUSL world it's a tinker server for sure. Stuff that was stable that bored me: Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu, Mint, Suse...tried them all 2-3 times to be fair. Lots of strengths but you fall head over heels or you don't. That's probably half of it anyway.
Solus has always done it.
PS---the hunt for a solid #2 took me about a year and a half. I hope yours goes faster 🙂

brent EndeavourOS is my backup. It was my primary before I discovered how much I like Solus.
The interesting thing is that with the major DDoS attacks of Arch and the AUR, it shows why backups can be important. It could happen to any distro. But I am in the process of moving all my main systems to Solus and maintaining a laptop with EndeavourOS just in case. I have learned ways to tinker with Solus, mainly in looking into doing some packaging and such, but EndeavourOS / Arch is certainly a solid choice. Alpine is indeed interesting as well.

this arch ddos stuff is ongoing, disruptive, and makes me sad. it's obviously someone with a grudge; maybe related to that AUR RAT incident(s) maybe not. they have overcome---Endeavour is a solid rolling--agreed. Hey it's nice you are taking your expertise and helping the team here.

Staudey Haha. Might very well be. But I think I ~~stole~~ borrowed it somewhere else. I usually get my wallpapers from distros I start from live iso to check them out and there are always one or two wallpapers where I go: nice, I better copy that one. It's definetely one of my favourits. I have also set it as GDM background with GDM settings app.

This is not much, and honestly, have not done much to it yet. However, this system was a big change for me. I have already changed my office system and 3 other laptops over to Solus, but this is my main home system, one I do not change often as I have so much running on it. But it was time to move it over to Solus as well. No matter the change, my main system at home is always named Pisces due to the duality of my passion for tech and art. I just got this up running about an hour ago. Pretty much other than a quick theme setup and a quick custom fastfetch logo, it is just getting going.
