I am hearing a lot about cutefish os on the internet and i Kinda like it , I would give it a try once it comes out of beta,
does anyone here look forward to solus adding the stable cutefish desktop in the future,
why? Whynot?

I build it on top of Solus some time ago. It looks great but still it needs more work. I always thought that Zorin is best bright/white theme out of box experience out there but with Cutefish coming it will be a nice fight.
Also best option for a DE for me is the switch for Dark/light theme. I just love it.
Here it is: https://discuss.getsol.us/d/7408-building-an-alternative-ecosystem/74
FakharHaider Solus supports Budgie, Gnome, Mate and Plasma. All are popular, mature, well-maintained and well-supported desktop environments. Cutefish isn't close to that standard at this point, and probably won't be for years, if ever.
@DataDrake has responded to a number of similar inquiries (Deepin and others) in the past by saying that the team has no plans to support any additional desktop environments now or in the future. I hope that remains the case at this time, because the team has a lot of work to do on more critical projects.

Don't worry, you definitely shouldn't count on any new DEs making their appearance in Solus atm. What with the recent exodus and limited hands as is, that would not be very wise. (all of this in my somewhat humble, medium-informed opinion ^^)

Why is that so ? what if people like other DEs and want to use it on their favourite distro: solus. Wouldnt ppl then just stop using it ?
Because it requires someone to maintain it , it is another ISO to build and test, potentially new help center articles to write, adds to stack complexity and creates a new, unique support burden. We have enough to do already without spreading ourselves thinner adding every DE under the sun.
If between our Solus editions of Gnome, Budgie, Mate and Plasma (There is also fluxbox, openbox, bspwm and i3 in the repository) a user can not find something they like so they switch to another distro that fits them better because it provides Deepin, Pantheon or Cutefish etc, that is perfectly fine.
FakharHaider Why is that so ?
Demand, resource limits, priorities and resource allocation. Solus has limited resources and needs to allocate existing resources to the most important projects.
FakharHaider what if people like other DEs and want to use it on their favourite distro: solus.
The basic options: (1) create a DE build on top of Solus for personal use; (2) work with the DE project to expand the DE to become distro-agnostic, as other DE's have done over the years; (3) switch from Solus to a DE-supported distro.
FakharHaider Wouldnt ppl then just stop using it ?
Most likely. Not every Linux product meets the needs of every Linux user. Solus is no exception. But unless Cutefish develops a reasonable market share over the next 3-5 years, the number will probably be small.
Cutefish is in really early days. The DE looks nice but it's nothing you can't put together with Gnome fairly quickly.
It's uniqueness appears to be it's use of Qt etc. to somewhat reproduce the Mac DE.
I suspect we won't see a usable version on other distros until they have fully developed the Cutefish OS. Similar to Budgie and Deepin.
In the meantime Reborn OS on a spare drive seems a good way of giving it a try.
@WhiteWolf
Do you have an installer of Solus Cutefish? Or is that forbidden because of copyright?
Greetings
Fanmion
Fanmion To add to this, yes it would be an infringement on Solus copyright to release a "Solus Cutefish" edition without getting permission from the project. Simply playing around and creating one (or rather compiling the necessary selection of packages) for your own use is of course no problem at all.
WhiteWolf Do you mind providing some guidance? Would appreciate it.
I was the manager of the Cutefishos Chinese forum before, but now Cutefishos team having some problems,The official website is not accessible ,and the software sourse is blocked.I am happy to see Cutefishos here, and wish them all the best
I think solus budgie is very good,I build it on termux.
All I want is for Cutefish to be in the repositories so I can test it on Solus. Even a separate repository would be fine. I really don't see any need for a new ISO, whether it's official or community-driven... you get it?
