i have Firefox set to 'custom' with 3rd party cookie blocking enabled. apparently whenever i load discuss.getsol.us, a bunch of trackers/cookies get embedded too. Is this normal?

I do not use firefox but on a fresh profile I got none sitting at the front page of the forum initially. However if you open up a thread like https://discuss.getsol.us/d/615-song-of-the-day it'll start reporting that it blocked youtube / google stuff. So yes, that would be normal.

[deleted] You keep your settings on 'strict' like I do but I have to dial them back to enjoy the Song of the Day thread. Or remove them sometimes. It's all google/youtube/imgur trackers from other embeds in threads (Harvey is right; I aked this very question on the forum a couple years ago).

      brent Or remove them sometimes

Doesn't Firefox provide a way to allow certain specified exceptions in its preferences?

WetGeek Yes, I think you can accept cookies, maybe java, for a particular site (unsure about all that). Reason I'm unsure: I allow/deny that stuff thru my adblocker (umatrix) not the browser.

          brent Reason I'm unsure

Maybe someone else could clarify that. I'd need to install Firefox to verify it, and remove it agian afterwards, and it's just not that important to me. Other browsers allow you to make exceptions for sites you don't want to block, so I assumed Firefox would also. If Firefox does, it might be much easier to do that instead of making exceptions one-at-a-time. Many browsers would not need you to install such an add-in.

Yes, Firefox provides a setting where you can turn off tracking protection for certain websites.

the song of the day thread barely loads up for me because of my browser settings. 😅
