brent Can't say for sure right now but it's possible that the desktop-portal packages could fix that.
One issue is that people uninstalling all that flatpak stuff and then re-installing flatpak wouldn't get the desktop-portal package for their DE even if they are initially included with the .iso's. But since that is a system state that they themselves manually created, I think it's not too bad if that doesn't automagically work.
