Maximum Update Interval

I'm wanting to install Solus on someone's laptop for them, but I don't know how often they will be turning it on and using it. As soon as they turn it on, I'll get them to update it (unlike here: https://discuss.getsol.us/d/7560). What is the maximum time between updates where there would not be a problem with what one might call 'dependency drift' where updates would not work because changes would be too large. Could it be updated every month or every two months?

I wouldn't space out updates anymore than a month and we more-or-less encourage updating on a weekly basis. It's otherwise basically impossible to track down issues when we could be dealing with several kernel updates, various software stack releases, etc.

I have never experienced issues on my laptop which I only turned on and updated every couple of months until it completely died (RIP). Of course they'll have to actually update it first thing after starting to use it again. If they try to install single packages after months without updates, they'll enter into very dangerous territory.
