kyrios I don't know how you could believe that by 2025 VirtualBox won't see any update
I don't remember ever writing that. I wanted to pass on Oracle's instructions for the folks who want to do it NOW.
Microsoft currently makes it possible for those who want Windows to run it without registering it (read: "paying for it") with only the proviso that they can't customize it. I applaud Microsoft for that uncharacteristic generosity. That's a benefit for those of us who only want to put it into a VM in order to run a single application that's not available for Linux.
But in my case, that's not even a showstopper, so I'm not overly concerned. The one app I run in a Windows VM is the Nook eBook reader, which runs just fine on my 10" Android tablets. In fact, I use one of those to read myself to sleep every night -- my answer to insomnia.
I'm far more concerned for folks of modest means, who use an unregistered version of Windows because they have no choice. Will Windows 11 be available for free for them in 2025?
