I was trying to install my custom alert sound for Solus Gnome.
I got as far as moving an ogg file to usr/share/sounds/gnome/default/alerts.
However, the alert sound does not show up in the UI of the Gnome-Settings-Sound.
According to this old tutorial on Gnome Ubuntu, I might have to edit an xml file somewhere. There is no XML file like the one that the aforementioned tutorial mentions that I can find so far on Solus in the usr-share files. While there is a gnome-control-center folder, within that folder, there doesn't seem to be an xml file anywhere that resembles what the above tutorial mentions.
Can anyone help here? How can I make that sound file I added to the directory show up on the Settings UI so I can select it?
Thanks
