I installed it as a flatpak when I run it says authentication required wondering why it would need that
any Ideas have not Id it yet to use it. I have it on my mac and it doesnt do that.

Axios been using this a month now I really like it. From the flatpak. I have never seen any 'authentication required' notice before in Budgie. My budgie and your Mac don't show this notice. I don't know what DE you are in, but there has to be some variables to eliminate. maybe it's how ungoogled sees/relates to things in settings?>

if I missed your point (edit) I only get the privileges notice for snap installs. and only rarely for flatpaks but have gotten them before in flatpak. not super unusual to me

Are you, perhaps, using Autologin on Solus? If so, your certificate might not be opened on login.

Ya its on gnome I will try it on budgie little later and see what happens I am little sens when it comes to passwords
and allowing things access is all.

Axios Does gnome have a System Settings 'dashboard' like Budgie has? If so look at ungoogled in Applications and see how it works on your operating system as far as control. It's ludicrous but that's the price. it's 'ungoogled' to an extent...as my 3rd browser it's the friendliest for work stuff. best one I used for it's limited scope in my life.

Axios "I guess" is right since we don't know if this is the reason flatpak demands sudo authentication for sure....but looks/talks/walks: a duck.

Wish I could confirm. I manually log in and can't remember if ungoogled flatpak install asked for sudo priv. but I'm leaning toward it did.I searched my history and there was no sudo in my flatpak command, but I'm unsure I got the UI prompt

Thanks for letting me know. I had a similar issue with Edge-Linux from Flatpak beta, and learned that the reason I was being asked for authentication on opening Edge-Linux was that the certificate was not opened with I auto logged into Solus. When I switched over so that I authenticated on login, the issue went away. It was just a thought, and not, as it turns out, a useful thought. It sounds like you are having a different problem.

brent gave it 20 minute search or more. one was a formal complaint filed by a chrome user at a chrome help message board that got no reply. was unable to find an exact situation like yours except that one.
More bizzare is this https://blogs.gnome.org/wjjt/tag/flatpak/ all about this dbus/flatpak-spawn complicated authentication assignation. Over my head.

what I can't figure out is you are wondering why you get the message when you installed it? or why you keep getting the message launching from the terminal when you want to run it?

edit/the reason I ask is because I launch ungoogled thru the menu and don't get the authentication dialogue box.

that makes sense. on installation I would expect to see it maybe.

for day-to-day usage I really don't think it's right to have authentication when you launch your browser...it's kind of silly.
Gparted I can see, but a chrome browser?
Maybe Root made itself owner of the flatpak bundle or a binary inside it? a strange one.

I uninstalled it started from terminal threw errors sandbox,root,libsecret Dont trust it at this point.
Seems to run ok.
I have several other flatpaks installed no problems there.

I wouldn't trust it either. It seems conditional for some, not others. I don't have to password to use it...how app interacts with individual settings in your case? a mystery, but I did not search engine it. maybe I will.
ps--i tried chrome in firejail a year ago. it hated firejail. it hates sandboxing. I uninstalled quicky.
