You could eventually look at the category to get hints but many packages ship both GUI and CLI tools together so it just gives you some hints.
When you want to test something, if it's just for playing a little to make yourself an opinion, you can rollback after testing with eopkg hs -t
. Of course if you want to uninstall it after weeks, the best is to use eopkg rm
.
Another option is to use a virtual machine for testing. You can even do a snapshot before installing stuffs so you can restore it later to get a clean environment. Personally I do all my packaging stuffs & testing on a VM; only for some rare usecases I do testing directly on my laptop.
This way you can keep your system clean and healthy without having to waste time doing many housecleaning tasks.
