why is the nvidia driver out of date?

I come from archlinux, and I know that there is always the latest update for everything, but in other distros (fedora,opensuse,zorinOS) it is with the latest stable driver (470.74).
why solus is with the previous driver (470.63) ?

Staudey I didn't know about this bug, I hope the next driver comes without problems.
is there any way to install the 470.74 driver with eopkg ? I don't want to install it via ".run"

As well you shouldn't. That would probably only lead to problems down the road.

In case you want/need the absolute bleeding edge (495.29.05), you could install the nvidia-beta-driver packages instead.
nvidia-beta-driver-common, nvidia-beta-driver-current, and nvidia-beta-driver-32bit

Or just wait for the next, hopefully more stable, nvidia driver release.
