Basically what ^ he said.
Solus recognizes but does not add? Your are missing driver package. Uninstall/remove BOTH printers. Reboot. Go to repo and install the HP packages. Now add your printer. If it still says "failed" then reboot.
I cannot stress reboot enough🙂.
If it's still a fail then you still need a driver/plugin.
I chased the 1080 down at HP. They did not have a driver for linux. Instead they offer a hplips package download as a blanket driver...seemed strange to me unless it's only available bundled?
