So I am testing the waters on moving to Linux full time for my gaming PC. I have noticed one issue when it comes to running games with wine (Lutris or Proton). When I start a game I will have no sound until I open the sound panel within settings. Is there anyway I can fix this?
Sound in Wine applications does not work until opening the sound panel
Maybe... how many sound devices you have? I mean output and connected ones, like HDMI sound on graphics card, sound from motherboard, USB sound device, others...
Also installing pulseaudio
you can see what's set as default, and change it.
I had this kind of problem in the past, because some apps were always using my nvidia sound in HDMI, and not the one I use, setting it in pulseaudio solved my problems.
YuriTheHenrique I have two devices. Built In sound card and my USB DAC. The USB DAC is the default. Seems like if I keep the Sound panel open the sound is fine but if it is closed it needs to be opened before I get any sound
