being relatively new to plasma(i switch between gnome and plasma a bit), unless you count a stint back in 2012 or thereabouts, im interested in tweaks and neat things people might have discovered

Plasma CSD
one such is this psuedo CSD tweak https://tube.kockatoo.org/w/oa3g4LFce2sQLsR8cZjhBr

Systray tweaks
another tweak that i discovered myself is that i was unhappy with the narrow spacing between systray icons in plasma, and i found out that if you disable every item in the systray settings you can add them as widget/applets instead (rightclick panel -> add widgets), they are all there, network, volume, clipboard and so on. the result is more space between each entry, you can have them in the order of your own preference, and you get rid of that ugly drop down arrow. win win win.

anyone got more?

If you download a theme from Github then use kvantum manager to install it and then search for the same theme in Global Theme [and then suitable icons if your prefer] then it's possible to make KCalc, Dolphin, Right-click menus translucent.

not really a trick since its there for anyone to see, but i didnt know about it:
-rightclick volume icon - configure audio volume to set the volume steps. 2% suits me much better than the default

oh and i wasnt able to find a way to make ctrl-alt-backspace kill X, but turns out its there, its just hard to find in the myriad of settings: input devices > keyboard > advanced > key sequence to kill X server

YuriTheHenrique Thank you! I always missed something like Windows CRTL+ALT+SUPR, when the system gets frozen. Good to know.

Hitting SHIFT+ALT+F12 stops/resumes kwin compositing, boosting FPS on games and heavy applications if you need a bit more of performance...
And if you are using nvidia proprietary driver, disabling kwin compositing fixes the terrible tearing in fullscreen...
