Spectacle Closing

I'm using Solus 4.3 KDE Plasma, and when I open Spectacle, regardless of whether I take a screenshot or not, clicking "Copy to Clipboard" causes Spectacle to close.

ewertonurias I went to dev tracker above for the halibut (https://dev.getsol.us/T6975) and identical issue from--wait for it---2018.
Saw nothing on forums either. I'm not on plasma but I would just put forth: run it from the terminal, would there be any clues in terminal output?
I'm out of brain, but that might give clues to someone. good luck.

It does feel abrupt, but I am not sure if that is how it is supposed to work or not.

Soon as you open spectacle it takes a screenshot. So it always has one ready to copy. You do not need to click "take a new screenshot" unless you want to change options and take another one. In testing, if at any point you click "copy to clipboard", spectacle closes. But it has actually copied it to the clipboard and I can paste it into gimp. Launching spectacle from the terminal shows no errors when it closes. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, the image is sent to memory, the problem is only in closing the application after copying.

The "spectacle" command just executes the package, there is no output in the terminal.
I also tried "spectacle > log.txt", and there is no logged output either.

Not the same issue. Copy to clipboard was not working in that issue. Here clipboard is working, its just whether or not clicking "copy to clipboard" is supposed to close spectacle or not.

This option apparently comes checked by default.

There is an option on the screen.

Quit after Save or Copy

Turn this off if you don't want it to close after copy or save.

So its simply a matter of unticking that option within spectacle. Tested and it works.

I'm always taking a lot of screenshots, so I don't like this option checked, but that's ok, I just uncheck the option, that's not a problem 😄

I like it. Just did not realise it was on.

Just my opinion, but I disabled spectacle completely and have flameshot as a replacement. I put it on the autostart list. In my opinion it's much better then spectacle.

Could you please mention WHY it's so much better? Maybe that the rest of us would also like it better if we knew what the difference was. Thanks.

WetGeek it has even more options than spectacle and feels a bit more handy and compact, downside for me is that its working in background even though I dont need it to. whether its a game changer is up to you. personally I like gnome screenshot for being simple and reliable, if I want to edit the screenshot I just dump it in gimp real quick.
