I'm a long time Gnome user. Haven't spent hardly any time with KDE Plasma in years, and, when I did, I decidedly did not like it or find it useful to my life. A bit prideful about my aversion, if I get honest.
Anyway, with all the Gnome problems goings-on this week, and taking in recent months' KDE love amongst users and podcasters, I decided I needed to acquire some KDE Plasma skill. I fresh installed and, after an afternoon of researching and digging through the software and trying out this and trying out that, I put together an install that pretty much can do what my Gnome desktop does. A lot of configuring, but that just means increasing my familiarity with it a lot.
At least I've faced the dragon and can move on. I'm a little less KDE incompetent than I was. I hope the Gnome mess improves, but if it doesn't, I have other choices now.
