What are the chances of a mate-tweak like app being developed for Budgie?
I only ask as I'm fairly lazy LOL and while manually changing the Icons and GTK widgets is fine I kinda like the idea of just clicking a button.
Sadly I don't have the programming chops to even attempt trying this.
Just curious is all.

It sounds like Budgie Desktop Settings is what you're looking for. Right click your desktop.

agree w/@murbert ; you can do a lot in budgie-settings. at what you can't do I'm sure you can find in search bar as far as uber-tweaks

Thanks guys, I'm aware of and use budgie settings. It was a generalised question along the lines of an app/button that could change any installed themes i.e. widgets, icons fonts and possibly panels in one fell swoop, hence the comparison with mate-tweak (ubuntu Mate springs to mind )
I know there isnt one and like i mentioned in the original post, I'm lazy ๐Ÿ˜€

My bad for not being clear

cheers

so these basically 4 settings that you have, you want to merge to "an app/button that could change any installed themes i.e. widgets, icons fonts and possibly panels in one fell swoop."

I'm game. I'm lazy too! So here's to waiting for an answer๐Ÿ™‚.

brent I can't get away from the Korla icons for my Budgie machines either, they just fit so nicely. Widgets and system theme I'm using Orchis-dark though.

Personally I'm using the Marwaita-Alternative GTK theme and for the moment happy with Papirus with a few apps having customised icons

brent Korla just seems so right

Indeed. Because I trust your recommendations, I just tried it. I can't see a lot of difference from the default Plasma icons, the name of which I've forgotten, but these look very good to me. Having tried them, I see no reason to change back.

WetGeek korla blends in nice and practically---not a look at me look at me icon, but comfy.

algent Man @algent, that's the beauty of Solus (and by extension Linux). Every year I install (from repo) a bunch of icon/widget themes and then just mix and match to reinvent my own desktop and stop when I'm happy. I look forward to this annually. Thanks for the tip.

brent korla blends in nice and practically-

That was my impression. If someone had installed it while I wasn't looking, when I first looked I might not have noticed any difference. Probably would have had a feeling that something was different, but not know what.

WetGeek my Plasma is full neon and dark. I'm running Beauty Line icons, Orchis-dark system theme, sweet dark window decorations, and sweet mars cursors.

algent that's a good looking GTK theme

WetGeek Probably would have had a feeling that something was different,

Unfortunately, that infatuation didn't last long for me. Lots of icons that weren't obvious to me at first turned into little empty white rectangles. Hovering the mouse over them displayed their tool-tips, so I was still able to find out what they stood for, but not by sight alone.

I may do some more experimentation later on, but for now Breeze Extended seems to be comfortably complete. I think that will be my fall-back while I experiment with others. Pleasant enough looking, even if it doesn't make my heart beat faster.

                WetGeek little empty white rectangles

that's the moment of truth when its time to move on๐Ÿ™‚

algent I installed qogir-gtk-theme two days ago after you mentioned it. It's a little darker than I like but it's not Plata dark. I thought it would take an act of [politically-correct-deity-of-choice here] to tear me away from Vertex because I thought I could ride that train til the ride was over. It's definitely more tasteful in its folder view than V., and the minimize/max/close buttons are small and unobtrusive like V. I left it alone. Koral goes good with it.
PS----I installed a crapload of themes like i said I would but nothing beat Korla. All the ones that beat Korla have the Foot and Toes. Not a Foot and Toes fan!
                thanks again, sir.
mods: sincerest off topic apologies; wanted to follow up.

brent the minimize/max/close buttons are small and unobtrusive like V

qogir-gtk-theme-win variant has bigger buttons, but I prefer main qogir.

algent i do not install anything with 'win' in the title๐Ÿ™‚
I'm liking the main qogir as well.
