My laptop has ancient Bluetooth 2.0 (Broadcom BCM2045) on board. I got no problems with connecting to bluetooth speakers or headphones (they sound muddy because bluetooth 2.0 isn't good for audio streaming). I got some cheap-a** bluetooth 3.0 Apple-like chicklet (I hate chicklets BTW; they are retarded) keyboard and I couldn't pair it on Solus because, bluetooth manager wasn't showing the pin number I needed to type on the keyboard to pair. So I used bluetoothctl tool in the terminal and I was allowed to pair, trust, connect and then use the keyboard with my laptop. The problem is once it enters the battery saving (sleep) mode or I turn it off it doesn't connect again, so I need to remove it from the list and repeat the whole process with bluetoothctl to make it work again. This is pain in the a**. I think it may be the problem with these old bluetooth versions both devices have. Anyways, most bluetooth keyboards are good for tablets and not for anything else. It's better to get wired or 2.4Ghz wireless keyboard with old school keys.
