Without spoiling the blog post, I will just say that I support you. We all support you.
JoshStrobl Seconded, wholeheartedly!
you're amazing thank you!
Be comfortable. Be happy. Be free. Most importantly be yourself. A bit cheesy I know! But I'm glad to know you so far in these recent years in this lovely little community. Keep doing the great work you do for this project, but keep doing equal the work as well on yourself too! Life is all about finding a good balance and I think you are well on your way to standing tall with confidence and assurance knowing you are doing what is right by you. Takes courage to truly be oneself; you have my utmost respect and heartfelt gratitude. I don't have anything, but tea laying around, but just imaging me cheers'ing a whisky shot in your honor
You are a good person, and we are lucky to have you in the team !!!
Immediately after seeing the edit to your profile on phabricator I rushed to the forums to see if you'd made an announcement. It's great to see you've been finally be able to openly talk about something that has been a big part of your mind for so many years. Here's to hoping that the political and societal acceptance of this matter doesn't take another big step back like it did in 2016, as you mentioned. You definitely have my full support.
Off-topic: I'm getting the following error on Firefox after clicking that link:
Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for datadrake.com. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.dynadot.com, dynadot.com
Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN
And one little typo I spotted while reading: re-acquantance
should be re-acquaintance
Bravo, my compliments and admiration go out to you
I'm glad you can finally feel comfortable to be who you truly are. We will always be here to support you and stand beside you.
It is indeed good news! Self-realization is a lifelong process, day-to-day growth in understanding, with milestones. Your announcement, and your willingness to make that announcement, is a milestone. Your life will now change, for the better, as mine did decades ago when I dropped the pretense of being straight, came out to all and sundry, and let the chips fall. If I may offer a bit of advice, do not be concerned about the ebbs and flows in political and societal acceptance. Acceptance will come little by slowly, often painfully, just as political and societal acceptance of gays and lesbians came over the last fifty years, but it will come. Be who you are and celebrate the joys of your life, day by day. Congratulations on taking this important step in your journey.
I'm a little late to this party, but congrats @DataDrake !
Respect.
Bold. Be who you are, the world's got your back.
Hey! I am very glad that you found yourself! Good luck!
@DataDrake Thanks for educating me on this matter. Not being personally involved, there was a lot that I didn't understand before, but do now. Best of luck on the journey ahead!
Happy you're now able to feel better with yourself, congrats!
