ADB and fastboot installation?

Hi there!
I would like to upgrade my LineageOS installation on an android mobile phone of mine. It's not my main phone, so the damage wouldn't be great if it doesn't work or if I make a mistake.
But I need some help in installing ADB and fastboot to sideload files onto my phone.

So, how do I go about installing those components?
I downloaded the required .zip file and unpacked it into a folder of my choice.
I'm using the latest SOLUS Budgie version on a Thinkpad W530, with no other OS on it.
Surely, unpacking isn't installing yet - so what do I have to do?

In the Software Centre go to Third Party and install Android Tools.

Open terminal and paste these commands

sudo eopkg bi --ignore-safety https://raw.githubusercontent.com/getsolus/3rd-party/master/programming/tools/android-tools/pspec.xml

sudo eopkg it android-tools.eopkg;sudo rm android-tools.eopkg
