Hi. I am experiencing a reoccurring issue with the compositor on KDE Plasma. I get the following notification several times per day.
" Desktop effects have been suspended by another application. You can resume using the 'Alt+Shift+F12' shortcut."
I am uncertain how to troubleshoot this in order to identify the offending application. Is there a log where I can search to see if an application is causing this?
I ran journalctl -n 100 --no-pager
and found the following.
Aug 17 14:01:45 shannon plasmashell[1204]: qt.qpa.xcb: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 2 (BadValue), sequence: 64415, resource id: 0, major code: 53 (CreatePixmap), minor code: 0
Aug 17 14:01:45 shannon plasmashell[1204]: qt.qpa.xcb: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 9 (BadDrawable), sequence: 64416, resource id: 35652465, major code: 55 (CreateGC), minor code: 0
I also see this:
Aug 17 14:01:45 shannon plasmashell[1204]: qt.svg: <input>:413:631: Could not add child element to parent element because the types are incorrect.
Any suggestions on how to isolate the issue or on a solution? Thanks!
PS: I should add that I typically run the following applications all day.
- vscode
- Slack
- Joplin
- Zoom
- Brave
- Firefox
- Dropbox
- Steam
