SOLUSfiddler If you're talking about your data, i.e. the contents of things like Documents, Pictures, etc., you won't have any problem. What's not recommended is to try to copy over configurations and such, i.e. the whole content of your home folder, especially all the hidden .*
files.

The warning concerns if you'd try to install the Plasma components on top of an existing DE install, such that you could switch DEs simply by logging in/out. That would be a bad idea, since you're mixing configs from different DEs and things are prone to break in such cases.
