steps to reproduce.
1) install solus gnome 40
2) install blender from the software center
3) run blender and change the "base color" under the "material properties tab" to "image texture".
This reliably crashes blender on my system, and various other things in blender.
My current workaround is to use the flatpak version that seems to work fine.
