I used to use Hi DPI with my 4K TV, but I found out that some things worked better with a setting just a bit lower than that setting provides. Dunno whether this will help you at all, but the Plasma DE provides finer adjustments for that setting, and might provide one that works well for you if the Hi DPI setting doesn't make you happy.
