I went distro hopping for a month (all with Plasma as a DE) before coming back to Solus yesterday (so this is a new install, meaning that I haven't tweaked or played around with it much yet).
However, I discovered something rather annoying and I'm at a loss of what to do and why its happening.
I've set my computer to go to sleep whenever I'm away from it for x minutes; whenever I wake my computer up the Desktop Effects are disabled.
I have a notification from KWin Window Manager saying:
Desktop Effects have been suspended by another application
You can resume by using the 'Alt+Shift+F12' shortcut
The first few times, I did this, but its getting real tiring now. And the most frustrating part is that it shouldn't happen in the first place either. The notificaiton doesn't tell me what application is suspending Desktop Effects (though I'm guessing it is whatever is responsible for putting the computer to sleep).
Can someone help me diagnose and fix the problem?
Thanks
Edit: To clarify my reason for mentioning that I distro hopped to various KDE distros was to say that I didn't experience this in the other distros I tried (primarily Kubuntu 21.04).
Nor did I have this problem before I started distrohopping.
