  • New song of the day playback weirdness

Problem: 50% of songs of the day are inaccessible lately. I went through the last 3 months of stuff I saw but can no longer see anymore...
How long?: 4-8 weeks now
Things tried: all 3 browsers, different extensions, no extensions, results the same.
Picture 1:

When I see the "watch on youtube" I know I'm doomed most of the time.
Presses play anyway:

...and failure.
@Solarmass uploaded a song shortly after and that played fine.

So, as a relatively new phenomena...I don't post much music lately because I can't play it back.
Is it me? Flarum? Youtube? Other?
How did this wonderful experience go to a miserable experience?
edit: forgot to say thank you

brent Are you using some sort of custom hardening in your Firefox? For example pyllyukko's user.js?

      [deleted]
I almost installed the infamous ghacks user.js but it seemed too restricting...ironic you ask...but I did adopt (steal) a couple about:config settings in their script which seemed wise at the time. Not a lot. I kept my changes in a .txt file, "just in case."
You think this is the "just in case"? I may play with reversing them later. Thanks for the heads up.

[deleted] Wait a minute..how would FF hardening explain identical behavior in my two non-FF browsers? All have different extensions etc. Falkon basically has nothing.

brent I have tested all videos for the last month, no problems here. I think that's YT doing (geo-restriction, etc...)

Solarmass I think that's YT doing (geo-restriction, etc...)

When I've seen that happen, it's always displayed a message saying that "This video cannot be played in your region," or words to that effect.

Solarmass did you try to click Watch on YouTube link?

yes, opens a new window to youtube proper. Still can enjoy forum member's songs but 50% of them not at Solus Forum.

Solarmass yup, but YT likes to change things

TINFOIL ALERT: In my (failed) Song of the Day experiment, I allowed Alphabet/YT cookies to track me across all 3 test browsers. That is why my results are identical every browser. Anyone please disprove me; it's a working theory.

Why would we have radically different results?
Conclusion: when it comes to the Corps. the internet experience is jacked. I mean varied๐Ÿ™‚

edit: thank you and @WetGeek for your replies

Maybe try in the 4th fresh installed browser (Google Chrome)

Solarmass Nah, think I will flush all history/cookies/dns/saved data/temp files, logs, houseclean, reboot, and check it again....someday๐Ÿ™‚.

Yes, exactly! And with each day more and more get locked from the forums view. Not sure how come only few of us seem to suffer from this ๐Ÿ˜•
              Edit:
Ok, not sure what happend but while trying to listen to some songs everything seemd to work as before , I am really confused by this ...

a search for the error "video unavailable please watch on YouTube" (whatever it is) reveals about 58 possible reasons. I just looked at the titles and snapshot text. Not a paranoia thing because there is no ONE thing. The (tiny random sample) majority claim it's the way it was embedded, some say drmc settings, and then there's the other 56 things yawn. It's easier if I just believe the truth: I hate alphabet and it hates me back๐Ÿ™‚
