Has anyone here played Destiny 2 on Solus? It's showing up as Borked on ProtonDB, so I'm wondering if it's even worth investing my time in. I've got it on my Xbox, but it would be fun to play with my son if I can get it running on our desktop or my laptop.

Destiny 2 uses an anti-cheat that is not compatible with wine/proton (yet). Anti-cheat compatibility is being worked on but there is no real time frame for it.

hdansin I'm aware the anti-cheat isn't compatible but I wasn't aware Bungie was working on making it compatible. Are there new updates from Bungie I haven't seen?

From what I've read, Bungie aren't working on making it compatible and will continue to ban players who even get it to run. I stopped playing that game after I saw their behavior toward Linux players. Blizzard has been amazing with incorporating support to allow Linux users to play and they'll continue receiving my support.

WannaBeOCer I saw the same thing, but haven't seen any recent updates on progress. That's why I wasn't sure if it was compatible or not. Looks like they had some major issues banning players trying to run it on wine/proton also.

WannaBeOCer I meant that wine devs are working on compatibility. I believe Valve has actually hired some people to get games that use EAC to work with proton.

hdansin some improvements to Cross Play would be nice also. Being able to have members playing on Steam join your fire team while you're on Xbox would be great, but it's not there yet that I can see.

For the time being, I've installed Windows on a spare drive and have it running on Steam there. Just hope my little Ryzen 3 in the laptop can keep up.

Fyi, Destiny 2 works great on Stadia, all you need is google chrome and a fast connection. And a game controller/keyboard mouse.
Destiny 2 base game is free to play.
Way less hassle than trying to get wine to work or dual booting, since your hardware doesn't matter as long as it runs chrome.

Magnu5 you still have to sign up for Stadia at $5/month or whatever correct?

My little Ryzen 3 with integrated graphics was struggling at 1080 with everything set to low, so installed it on Windows in another machine with a couple spare drives. Works perfect on that on highest settings, but it's an i7 with a GTX 1060.
