*Ever since a forum member (@MintSpider ?) said he bought an "open source, open hardware" computer called System 76 I have been intrigued there could be such a thing as 'open hardware.' Seems they make their own "daughterboards" with the design published at github.
*The 'umbrella' foss organization of open hardware engineers is https://www.oshwa.org/, or I imagine it is since I know so little.
*That address has this pdf above ("weather report") which is a mind-blowing mission statement, manifesto, overview of a foss community no one ever talks about.
*Even this industry acknowledges that a desktop computer will never be 100% open source, they seem keen on closing the gap.
Could you imagine?
