EbonJaeger There is a learning curve to any OS you use. I challenge you to sit someone, who has never used a computer before, before a computer with any OS and see how they fare. I will grant you that Linux probably will not be the easiest, but Windows and MacOS will be no walk in the park either.
You can use whatever you want and get things done. Again, there will be a learning curve to anything new that you encounter though.
1970s has nothing to do with using the CLI. You will find that you will begin to understand things better, as well as get better at troubleshooting, if you embrace and learn the CLI in Linux. Using the GUI obfuscates things so if it breaks, you will not know how to troubleshoot and fix it if it breaks. I'm not saying use the CLI exclusively. GUI apps certainly have their place and are useful, but you will do yourself a big favor by learning the CLI if you decide to use Linux, or even MacOS since it's a BSD customization.
