Solarmass brent I wonder if it can be enabled/disabled in about:config? Yes! Just tested it in Firefox 88. browser.tabs.allowTabDetach I mentioned this in the quote above π
elfprince Solarmass Thank you! I must add that I don't get why this behaviour is set to true, when it is pretty much a useless, shockingly unexpected and uncalled for thing. π
Solarmass elfprince because it is a standard behavior in all browsers. You can detach tab to open it in the new window. I use it but not often.
brent elfprince As I'm always trying to harden my browser...you be amazed at what's left enabled/true in a:c, but in the name of performance they say (not going to tinfoil it up here)π @Solarmass All I could see was Martin trying to sell me an extension; did not get that far in the textπ
elfprince Solarmass I never wished to use it. Just clicking on a tab should not be considered necessarily an intention or invitation to spawn a new Firefox instance.
Solarmass elfprince it happened to me too. It looks more like a bug. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=727420 https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/d56rfh/can_undocking_of_tabs_be_made_less_sensitive/ https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/a5hjxl/firefox_640_sensitive_tabs/
Solarmass brent All I could see was Martin trying to sell me an extension Probably the setting in about:config wasn't available when he wrote the article.
brent Solarmass this did happen to me again today, so I went into config and set to false. thanks again for that. elfprince so far so good after you changed setting?
