I'm in the live USB now. I deleted the old linux boot manager and made a new one using
sudo efibootmgr -b [num] -B
and
sudo efibootmgr -c -d /dev/sda -p 2 -l "\EFI\systemd\systemd-bootx64.efi" -L "Linux Boot Manager"
But it doesn't work. My Dell motherboard doesn't even let it boot!
So I'm back in the live USB and this is what my partitions look like.
Here
My previous root directory was /dev/sda5, but it doesn't have a root flag (should it?) which leads me to believe that's the problem.
Also, none of my partitions are mounted.
sda2, my EFI partition has the following error:
Unable to read the contents of this file system! Because of this some operations may be unavailable. The cause might be missing software package. The following list of software packages is required for a fat32 file system support: dosfstools, mtools.
I have no idea what this means.
So, maybe I need some way to set it back to root? I have no idea if that's correct, though.
If I go to install OS, I can select make custom mounts and set sda5 to root, but I'm pretty sure that'll delete everything from my partition which I do NOT want.
I'm really starting to get to my wit's end here. I have no idea what to do.
