How can I trace the cause of a total System Freeze?

Hello, I've been running into this issue with this computer running Linux, the computer just "freezes" when I open a few more tabs than usual, or enter a site that has a lot of ads and a lot of under the hood scripting.
I'd like to know what could be causing this, google nowadays is crap to be honest, and has returned no useful results.
Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

Lack of ram? maybe the web page is using a lot of ram, usually opening facebook the system performance goes down as it loads facebook.
I could say the same as @stalebrim said.
I use ublock to remove ads, try to use it, your system will thank you.

Yeah I thought it may be a lack of RAM but it's not that, if it were, after swapping it would "come back", but it never does, it just freezes and does nothing.
I was thinking maybe a "log" or something that follows a system event that freezes everything up, or something going out of bounds.
